NBC Sports Network Presents Atlantic 10 Tournament First Round Games

 

NEW YORK – March 5, 2013 – NBC Sports Network’s college basketball coverage continues this week with seven games, highlighted by the CAA Conference Championship and semifinal rounds. NBC Sports Network will also deliver a college basketball tripleheader this Saturday, March 9. In addition, NBC Sports Network will present first-round coverage of the A-10 Men’s Championship beginning on March 14.

CAA TOURNAMENT

Coverage of the 2013 CAA Men’s Basketball Tournament will tip off this Sunday at 2 p.m. ET from Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Va.

Coverage begins with game one of the conference semifinals, when the No. 1 seed in the tournament will face off against the winner of the play-in game between the No. 4 seed and No. 5 seed. CAA Men’s Basketball Tournament action continues Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET, with game two of the conference semifinals, matching the winner of No. 2 vs. No. 7 against the winner of No. 3 vs. No. 6. Veteran play-by-play announcer Todd Harris and analyst Ron Thompson will call both semifinal matchups. Mike Corey will serve as the courtside reporter.

Monday night at 7 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network will telecast the CAA Conference Championship. Harris and Thompson will call the action for the game, with the winner of the contest receiving an automatic invite to the NCAA Tournament.

MORE ACTION

In addition to the CAA Tournament, NBC Sports Network will feature four college basketball games this week, highlighted by a tripleheader on Saturday.

Coverage begins Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET, when Butler travels to the Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass. to take on UMass. Dave Strader will manage play-by-play duties for the game and will be joined by analyst Dave Kaplan.

NBC Sports Network’s college basketball tripleheader begins on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET, when No. 16 Saint Louis hosts La Salle in a key A-10 contest at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo. Mike Corey and Dave Kaplan will have the call.

At 3:30 p.m. ET, in an important Mountain West matchup, San Diego State takes on Boise State at Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho. Play-by-play commentator Paul Burmeister will call the action with analyst Blaine Fowler.

Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. ET, Harvard looks to regain first place in the Ivy League and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, when the Crimson host Cornell at Lavietes Pavilion in Cambridge, Mass. Randy Moss will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Dalen Cuff.

ATLANTIC 10 MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

As previously announced today by the Atlantic 10 Conference, NBC Sports Group will deliver first-round coverage of the A-10 Men’s Championship. Per the agreement, NBC Sports Network will televise all four first-round games on Thursday, March 14, from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Coverage will begin at Noon ET, when the No. 8 seed takes on the No. 9 seed in game one of the first-round.

At 2:30 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network will deliver game two of the first-round, featuring No. 5 vs. No. 12.

A-10 Men’s Championship excitement continues at 6:30 p.m. ET. In game three of the first-round, No. 7 plays No. 10.

Coverage concludes with game four at 9 p.m. ET, when No. 6 challenges No. 11.  Mike Corey will manage play-by-play for all four games and will be joined by analyst Dave Kaplan. Brooke Weisbrod will serve as the courtside reporter.

Carolyn Manno and Rob Simmelkjaer will split host assignments for NBC Sports Network’s college basketball studio show and will be joined by former New Jersey Nets and UCONN forward Donny Marshall.

NBC Sports Network will televise more than 70 college basketball games this season — the most in its history — featuring more than 40 different schools. The majority of the games and teams will come from the Atlantic 10, Mountain West, Colonial Athletic Association and Ivy League conferences.
