THE ‘LIGHTS
NBC Sports Group’s tournament coverage of The Honda Classic this weekend will feature the return of Golf Channel’s Spotlight coverage, featuring live action of players navigating traditionally one of the toughest three-hole stretches in golf – “The Bear Trap” – and complementing NBC’s award-winning traditional coverage. NBC is on the air live from 3-6 p.m. ET.
The Spotlight coverage on-air team includes Ted Robinson, who will be making his Golf Channel debut, handling play-by-play responsibilities. Joining Robinson will be Curt Byrum as lead analyst, Tom Abbott as tower analyst, and Scott McCarron and Phil Parkin reporting from the course. Todd Lewis will conduct post-round interviews.
NBC Sports Network will resume Friday Night Ice, its college hockey programming, with Wisconsin at No. 15 Nebraska-Omaha at 7:30 p.m. ET, live from CenturyLink Center in Omaha. Dan Parkhurst will serve as play-by-play announcer alongside analyst ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Ken Hodge.
NBC Sports Network’s college basketball tripleheader begins on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET, when Delaware hosts George Mason in a key CAA contest at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Del. Mike Corey and Ron Thompson will have the call.
At 4 p.m. ET in an important Mountain West matchup, Nevada hosts UNLV, who continues to battle for second place in the conference standings. Play-by-play commentator Steve Schlanger will call the action with analyst Blaine Fowler, from Lawler Events Center in Reno, Nev.
Saturday night at 6 p.m. ET, Harvard looks to maintain first place in the Ivy League and continue a four-game winning streak, when the Crimson take on Penn at the historic Palestra in Philadelphia, PA. Randy Moss will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Dalen Cuff.
Carolyn Manno will host NBC Sports Network’s college basketball studio show and will be joined by former New Jersey Nets and UCONN forward Donny Marshall.
NBC and NBC Sports Network’s NHL coverage will continue on Sun., Mar. 3 with the undefeated Chicago Blackhawks facing off against the Red Wings at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, followed by the Montreal Canadiens against the Boston Bruins at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
Monday, March 4, the Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Tampa Bay Lighting at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by Tuesday’s coverage of the Flyers at N.Y. Rangers at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play), Olczyk (analyst) and Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’) will call the action in Detroit, while Dave Strader (play-by-play) and Engblom (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will call from Boston on Sunday. Kenny Albert (play-by-play) and McGuire will be on-site in Pittsburgh for Monday’s game.
NBC Sports Network will air daily coverage of the 2013 Paris-Nice, an eight-day cycling competition beginning with the prologue this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, from Houilles, France, a commune just outside of Paris, and finishing in Nice, in the south of France.
Veteran cycling commentators Paul Sherwen and Steve Schlanger will provide insight and commentary for NBC Sports Network’s coverage.
