THE ‘LIGHTS

THE CROSSOVER

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton, and Denver Broncos WR Eric Decker join Michelle Beadle and Dave Briggs tonight as guests of The Crossover, at 6 and 10:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.

 

 The Crossover, a new 30-minute daily topical sports, entertainment and pop culture show featuring Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle), one of America’s most popular sports and entertainment broadcasters, and Briggs (@DaveBriggsTV), former Fox News personality, premiered Monday, Jan. 28 in New Orleans and spent the whole week in the Super Bowl city. Beginning Monday, February 4, The Crossover will move to its permanent home in Studio 8G at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York.

 

COLLEGE HOCKEY

NBC Sports Network will resume Friday Night Ice, its college hockey programming, tonight when Union College hosts Dartmouth at 7:30 p.m. ET, from Messa Rink in Schenectady, N.Y. Steve Schlanger will serve as play-by-play announcer alongside with ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Ken Hodge.

 

GOLF

While NBC delivers its award-winning coverage of the PGA TOUR at this week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open, Golf Channel also will debut its 2013 Spotlight Coverage at the tournament, featuring specific – and exclusive – coverage of a three-hole stretch at TPC Scottsdale, which includes one of the most exciting settings in all of sports – the famous par-3, 16th hole. While NBC is on the air live from 3-6 p.m. ET this weekend with traditional coverage, Golf Channel also will be on the air live from 3-5 p.m. ET, but focusing only on the challenging stretch that encompasses holes 15-17.

 

RUGBY

NBC Sports Network will kick off its 2013 Rugby Sevens telecast season with two hours of coverage of the Hertz Sevens tournament this Saturday at 5 p.m. ET, from Westpac Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand. Coverage will include full matches as well as highlights from the two-day tournament.

 

Veteran announcer Bill Seward will serve as the play-by-play announcer for the telecast. Seward will be joined in the booth by former USA Sevens captain and USA Rugby World Cup participant Brian Hightower.

 

NHL

NBC continues its NHL coverage this Sunday, Feb. 3 with the Game of the Week featuring Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals at 12:30 p.m. ET.

 

Emmy Award-winning play-by-play announcer Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, Eddie Olczyk (analyst) and Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will be on-site at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. for NBC’s game on Sunday.

 

NBC Sports Network’s coverage will continue on Mon., Feb. 4 with the Dallas Stars at the Colorado Avalanche at 9 p.m. ET. Dave Strader (play-by-play) and Brian Engblom (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will call the action in Denver.

 

COLLEGE BASKETBALL

NBC Sports Network’s college basketball tripleheader begins on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET, when Dayton travels to the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo. to take on Saint Louis. Dave Strader will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Mike Kaplan.

 

At 6 p.m. ET Princeton hosts Columbia at the L. Stockwell Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, N.J. Randy Moss will serve as the play-by-play announcer for the matchup and will be joined analyst Dalen Cuff.

 

At 8 p.m. ET No. 20 New Mexico hosts Nevada at the Davalos Basketball Center in Albuquerque, N.M. Play-by-play announcer Steve Schlanger will call the action with analyst Blaine Fowler.
