NBC SPORTS NETWORK PRESENTS A REMATCH OF LAST YEAR’S NCAA DIVISION I LACROSSE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AS NO. 1 LOYOLA HOSTS NO. 2 MARYLAND
Defending NCAA Champion Loyola Hosts Maryland on Saturday, February, 23 at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network
Moe’s Southwest Grill Classic to Air on February 17 at 1 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network
NEW YORK – January 17, 2013 – NBC Sports Network will air the NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse game between No.1 Loyola Greyhounds and No. 2 Maryland Terrapins on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 1:30 p.m. ET, live from Loyola’s Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Md. The game is a rematch of last year’s NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship Game in which Loyola defeated Maryland, 9-3.
Loyola made history last year by capturing the university’s first Division I title in any sport. The Greyhounds set an NCAA championship game record by allowing just three goals against Maryland, and set an NCAA record by allowing a combined eight goals between the semifinal and final games. It was also Maryland’s second-straight appearance in the NCAA Championship Game. In 2011, they lost to the University of Virginia.
Loyola finished the 2012 season with an 18-1 record, tying the NCAA Division I record for wins in a season; Maryland finished 12-6.
For the second consecutive year, NBC Sports Network will air the Moe’s Southwestern Grill Classic on February 17 at 1 p.m. ET from EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. The coverage features Penn State vs. Denver and Ohio State vs. Jacksonville.
