PEYTON MANNING AND DREW BREES MEET IN DENVER FOR A QUARTERBACK DUEL ON “SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL”

Manning and Brees Have Combined for 99,475 Passing Yards & 712 TDs Coverage Begins with Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET Sunday Night Football Extra to Live Stream Saints-Broncos on NBCSports.com

NEW YORK – October 24, 2012 – Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints (2-4) travel to Denver to take on Peyton Manning and the Broncos (3-3) on Sunday Night Football in a matchup that features two of the game’s most prolific passers. Brees (349.5) and Manning (301.3) rank No. 1 and 2 (tie) this season in average passing yards per game, and have combined for 99,475 career passing yards (Manning – 56,636; Brees – 42,839). Brees has thrown a touchdown pass in a record 49 consecutive games and is one away from 300 career, which would tie him with John Elway for sixth on the all-time list. Manning is third all-time with 413 career passing touchdowns. Together Brees and Manning have combined for 712 touchdown passes. Coverage begins with Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET on NBC.

Calling Saints-Broncos is six-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his 27th season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 13-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth, who has won the Emmy for Outstanding Event Analyst in each of his three seasons in the Sunday Night Football booth; and sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, who, last year in her first season with SNF, won the inaugural Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Reporter.

Football Night in America is hosted by 23-time Emmy Award-winner Bob Costas, who will report from Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo. Costas will be joined on site by Michaels, Collinsworth and Hines Ward, the former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, Super Bowl MVP and newest addition to NBC Sports’ NFL team.

Dan Patrick co-hosts Football Night from NBC’s Studio 8G at 30 Rockefeller Plaza on Sunday night. Patrick is joined by Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, Peter King of Sports Illustrated, and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports Network and NBCSports.com. Alex Flanagan will report from Cowboys Stadium in Dallas on Giants-Cowboys.
