NEW EPISODE OF “NFL TURNING POINT” AIRS WEDNESDAY AT 10:30 P.M. ET ON NBC SPORTS NETWORK

In-Depth Look at Week 7 Performances by Eli Manning, Robert Griffin III, Tom Brady and Mark Sanchez Spotlight Look at Pittsburgh Steelers Pass Defense

New York – October 23, 2012 — Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, NBC Sports Network’s weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, airs this Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET. In this week’s episode: NFL Turning Point examines Eli Manning and the New York Giants victory over Robert Griffin III and theWashington Redskins;how Tom Brady was able to outduel Mark Sanchez in the New York Jets- New England Patriots game;and a spotlight look at Ike Taylor and the Pittsburgh Steelers pass defense. In addition, Football Night In America’s Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy will break down the keys to this Sunday’s New Orleans Saints-Denver Broncos game.

Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program airs throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.

This week’s episode will include:

– An in-depth look at the Giants–Redskins, and how two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning was able to one-up the Washington Redskins and their rookie phenom Robert Griffin III. NFL Turning Point examines the thrilling play of both quarterbacks, and dissects the final two minutes of the game which featured Griffin’s heroic, 77-yard scoring drive, and Manning’s 77-yard touchdown pass to Victor Cruz. NFL Films analyzes how Redskins defensive backs Josh Wilsonand Madieu Williamsallowed Cruz to beat them on the seam pattern – and how the play ultimately allowed New York to defeat Washington.

NFL Turning Point explores the thrilling Week 7 match-up between New England and New York, and how Patriots quarterback Tom Brady outplayed Mark Sanchez and the AFC rival Jets. The program reviews the Patriots two crucial scoring drives late in the game, and looks back at Sanchez’s fumble that ended the game.

– NFL Films shines a spotlight on how Ike Taylor the Pittsburgh Steelers pass defense shut down Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals. NFL Turning Point highlights how Pittsburgh was able to pressure Dalton and contain Cincinnati’s key receiver A.J. Green.

Football Night In America’s Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy look ahead to this Sunday’s Saints-Broncos matchup, and break down the keys to the game for both teams. Harrison and Dungy will use the coach’s clicker to analyze what makes Peyton Manning and Drew Brees so dangerous.

Each week NFL Turning Point will be built around select NFL match-ups from the previous weekend, and will focus on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show will feature anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that include the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.

Earlier this year NFL Films and NBC Sports Group agreed to renew the Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons. This year, NBC Sports Network will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLVII.
