DREW BREES, TOM BRADY AND ANDREW LUCK FEATURED IN THIS WEEK’S NFL TURNING POINT

New York – October 9, 2012 -- Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, NBC Sports Network’s weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, airs this Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET. In this week’s episode: NFL Turning Point shines a spotlight onSunday night’s SaintsChargers game, and Drew Brees’ historic evening in New Orleans; Colts quarterback Andrew Luck’s outstanding performance against the Packers;and a look at how Tom Brady and the Patriots offensive attack proved to be too much for the Denver Broncos. In addition, Football Night In America’s Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy will breakdown the keys to this Sunday’s Texans-Packers game.

Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program will air throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.

This week’s episode will include:

- An in-depth look at the Saints–Chargers, and Drew Brees’ incredible night at the Superdome. Brees was wired for sound as he led the Saints against his former team, and broke one of the longest-standing records in NFL history. NFL Turning point examines Hall-of-Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas’ record and the touchdown pass that put Brees at the top of the list.

- Andrew Luck and the Colts emotional game against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, as Colts head coach Chuck Pagano battles Lukemia. NFL Turning Point analyzes the comeback that the rookie quarterback staged in the second half, and how veteran wide receiver Reggie Wayne proved to be Luck’s most important target. The segment focuses on Luck’s fourth-quarter drive that allowed Indianapolis to take the lead with minutes left in the game, and the Colts ensuing defensive stand to preserve the victory.

- NFL Films examines the Broncos-Patriots game, and thehighly anticipatedcontest between two of the best quarterbacks in the league, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. NFL Turning Point explores how Denver’s defense simply couldn’t match up against New England’s running game. In addition, the segment highlights Willis McGahee’s fumble in the fourth quarter and how it proved to be a pivotal turning point.

- Football Night In America’s Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy look ahead to this Sunday’s Texans-Packers matchup and breakdown the keys to the game for both teams. Harrison and Dungy will use the coaches clicker to analyze what makes Aaron Rogers dominant, especially when given time in the pocket to pick apart a secondary. The FNIA crew will also look at Houston’s JJ Watt and the important role he plays on the Texans defense.

Each week NFL Turning Point will be built around select NFL match-ups from the previous weekend, and will focus on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show will feature anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that include the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.

Earlier this year NFL Films and NBC Sports Group agreed to renew the Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons. This year, NBC Sports Network will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLVII.
