AMERICA’S CUP WORLD SERIES, LIVE THIS SUNDAY, 4:30 P.M. ET

Comcast SportsNet California to Provide Six Additional Hours of Live Race Coverage From San Francisco Sunday’s Broadcast to Feature Match Racing and Fleet Racing Finals

NEW YORK – October 4, 2012 — NBC will air 90-minutes of live coverage of the America’s Cup World Series, this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET, from San Francisco. Sunday’s broadcast will feature the match racing final and fleet racing final.

Additionally, Comcast SportsNet California will air six hours of live race coverage of the America’s Cup World Series, beginning today through Saturday.

Eleven crews from eight countries are competing in the 2012-2013 America’s Cup World Series, including Artemis Racing White (Sweden), Artemis Racing Red (Sweden), China Team (China), Emirates Team New Zealand (New Zealand), Energy Team (France), J.P. Morgan BAR (United Kingdom), Luna Rossa Piranha (Italy), Luna Rossa Swordfish (Italy), Team Korea (Korea), and ORACLE TEAM USA (USA), which is fielding two boats with skippers James Spithill and Russell Coutts.

In Match Racing, Spithill and his ORACLE TEAM USA crew look to even the standings, after losing to Coutts and his ORACLE TEAM USA crew in the previous leg of the 2012-13 World Series. To have that opportunity, both Oracle TEAM USA boats will first have to beat out Artemis Racing White, Team Korea, Energy Team, Emirates Team New Zealand, J.P. Morgan BAR and Artemis Racing Red.

The race in San Francisco is the second leg of the 2012-2013 America’s Cup World Series. The America’s Cup World Series will continue in Venice, Italy April 16-21, 2013, and Naples, Italy May 14-19 2013. The regatta will then come back to San Francisco for the Louis Vuitton Cup, July 4 – September 1, 2013, followed by the America’s Cup Finals from September 7-22, 2013.

Veteran announcer Todd Harris will serve as the play-by-play commentator for the NBC broadcast and all CSN California telecasts. Harris will be joined in the booth by legendary sailor and author Gary Jobson.
