This week’s episode features DeMeco Ryans, who was wired for sound during the Eagles game-changing defensive stand against the Ravens;in-depth analysis of Alex Smith’s consistent play against the Lions andhis overall growth as an NFL quarterback; and compelling in-game audio from Philip Rivers and Norv Turner during the Chargers win against the Titans. This week’s episode will feature:

DeMeco Ryans, whoplayed a critical role in two game-changing stands against the Ravens on Sunday, was wired for sound. Shortly after the start of the third quarter, Ryans intercepted Joe Flacco’s pass and changed the momentum of the game.

With 1:55 to go in the fourth quarter, Ryans led the Eagles defense that shut down Flacco and pressured him to throw a series of incomplete passes to end the game.

Alex Smith’s consistent play on Sunday allowed the 49ers to exploit the Lions defense. NFL Turning Point takes an in-depth look at how Smith connected with Vernon Davis, Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree to put together an offensive assault and defeat the Lions 27-19.

The episode examines Smith’s growth as a NFL quarterback and how much he has developed during the past two seasons.

– Compelling in-game audio from Philip Rivers and Norv Turner, who both wore wireless microphones during the Chargers win over the Titans. San Diego routed Tennessee, 38-10, on Sunday to improve to 2-0.

Each week NFL Turning Point will be built around select NFL match-ups from the previous weekend, and will focus on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show will feature anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that include the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.

Earlier this year NFL Films and NBC Sports Group agreed to renew the Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons. This year, NBC Sports Network will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLVII.
