NEW YORK – June 4, 2012 – With I’ll Have Another’s attempt to become the first horse in 34 years – since Affirmed in 1978 – to claim horse racing’s elusive Triple Crown on NBC, the NBC Sports Group will conduct a conference call with members of the commentary and production team, and will add additional programming during Belmont week.

 

CONFERENCE CALL: The conference call will take place on Monday (June 4) at 4:30 p.m. ET to preview coverage of the 144th Belmont Stakes with co-host Tom Hammond, analysts Gary Stevens and Randy Moss, race caller Larry Collmus and NBC Sports Group Triple Crown producer Rob Hyland.

PROGRAMMING: NBC Sports Group will present 11 hours of Belmont-week coverage beginning this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET with I’ll Have Another – Charging Toward History, and culminates with the Belmont Stakes Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

 

The expanded Belmont Stakes coverage includes:

 

  • An additional 30 minutes of Belmont programming on NBC (4:30-7 on Saturday);
  • I’ll Have Another – Charging Toward History, a 30-minute special produced by “America’s Best Racing” with unprecedented access to I’ll Have Another and his connections as he attempts to become the first Triple Crown winner in 34 years;
  • Re-broadcasts of this year’s Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.
