New York – April 21, 2012 – Days 11-12 – The NBC Sports Group presents weekend coverage of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs on NBC, NBC Sports Network, CNBC and NHL Network with eight games, including five Game 5s on Saturday, and two Game 6s and one Game 5 on Sunday. NHL Live begins tonight on the NBC Sports Network at 6:30 p.m. ET.

SATURDAY

Weekend coverage begins today on NBC when the Eastern Conference’s #2 Boston Bruins host the #7 Washington Capitals in Game 5 (series tied 2-2) at 3 p.m. ET. Tonight, the #3 Florida Panthers host the #6 New Jersey Devils on NHL Network (series tied 2-2) at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by #8 Ottawa Senators at #1 New York Rangers on NBC Sports Network at 7 p.m. ET (series tied 2-2). In St. Louis, the #2 Blues can close out the series against the #7 San Jose Sharks on CNBC at 7:30 p.m. ET (Blues lead 3-1). Concluding the evening at 10 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network, the #3 Phoenix Coyotes aim to end their series against the #6 Chicago Blackhawks (Coyotes lead 3-1). Tonight’s schedule (all times ET):

Sunday’s coverage features a Game 6 doubleheader on NBC followed by a Game 5 primetime matchup on NBC Sports Network. The Flyers, who lead 3-2, attempt to close out their series on home ice at Noon ET on NBC against the Penguins, who were down 3-0 in the series, but who have rallied to win the last two games. Either the defending Stanley Cup champion Bruins or the seventh-seeded Capitals will be in position to clinch their series depending upon the outcome of Saturday’s contest. Sunday night on NBC Sports Network, the #8 Kings will again try to close out the top-seeded Canucks, but this time in Vancouver. Coverage begins at 7:30 p.m. ET with NHL Live.

GAMES TELEVISED SO FAR

For the first time in the 95-year history of the NHL, every Stanley Cup Playoff game will be televised nationally. The NBC Sports Group will provide unprecedented access to the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs in April, May and June, televising as many as 105 playoff games and possibly more than 262.5 hours of programming. Games will be presented on NBC, the NBC Sports Network, the NHL Network, and NBCUniversal’s business channel CNBC in primetime.
