WORLD CHAMPION AND OLYMPIC HOPEFUL JORDYN WIEBER HEADLINES THE FIELD AS NBC PRESENTS THE KELLOGG’S PACIFIC RIM CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS SATURDAY, 1 PM, ET

NBC’s Coverage Begins Saturday at 1 p.m. ET

NEW YORK – March 15, 2012 – 2011 World all-around champion and Olympic hopeful Jordyn Wieber headlines the women’s field for the Kellogg’s Pacific Rim Championships at the Comcast Arena in Everett, Wash. that features the world’s best gymnasts from 13 countries  NBC Sports will broadcast action from the Kellogg’s Pacific Rim Championships on Saturday, March 18, at 1 p.m. ET on NBC.

NBC’s Olympic gymnastics broadcast team of Al Trautwig, Olympian Elfi Schlegel, 1984 Olympic gold medalist Tim Daggett and Andrea Joyce will call the action.

The women’s competition will feature gymnasts from 13 countries, including the United States, Canada, China, Japan and Russia. Joining Wieber, who earned the AT&T American Cup title two weeks ago in New York, on the U.S. Team are seniors Gabrielle Douglas, who was a member of the U.S. Team that won the 2011 World team title, and 15-year old Kyla Ross, who is making her international debut as a senior and was the 2011 U.S. junior all-around silver medalist, and juniors Amelia Hundley, the silver all-around medalist at the 2011 Japan Junior International competition;  Katelyn Ohashi, the 2011 U.S. junior all-around, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise champion; and Lexie Priessman, the 2011 U.S. junior vault champion.

The international field includes Australia’s Lauren Mitchell, the 2010 World floor exercise champion and 2008 Olympian, and Emily Lee, a 2010-11 World team member; Canada’s Christine Lee, 2010 World team member, and Kristina Vaculik, 2011 Pan Am Games team and beam silver medalist and all-around bronze medalist; and China’s Tan Sixin, 2011 World team bronze medalist.
