THE FINAL 8 COMPETE ON NBC THIS SUNDAY AT THE NATIONAL HEADS-UP POKER CHAMPIONSHIP

Two Former WSOP Main Event Champions Headline the Quarterfinal Round 2010 NHPC Runner-Up Erik Seidel Still in Hunt for 2011 Title

NEW YORK – May 12, 2011 – NBC will broadcast the Quarterfinals of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship presented by GoDaddy.com from CaesarsPalace in Las Vegas, Nev. this Sunday at Noon ET. The winners will advance to next week’s Semifinals and will be guaranteed a minimum of $125,000 in prize money.

 

Two former World Series of Poker Main Event champions highlight the field: Chris Moneymaker (2003) and Jonathan Duhamel (2010). Moneymaker, who is making his longest run ever in this event, faces David Oppenheim in the Spades bracket. Duhamel, playing in his first NHPC, will battle another event newcomer Olivier Busquet in the Clubs bracket.

 

The Hearts bracket features 2010 NHPC runner-up Erik Seidel against the last woman standing, Vanessa Selbst. And Andrew Robl, who knocked out Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith in the second round, takes on cash game specialist David Benyamine in the Diamonds bracket.

 

NBC’s Craig Hummer, Ali Nejad and Leeann Tweeden call the action. NBC continues its coverage of the 2011 National Heads-Up Poker Championship with the Semifinal and Championship Round on Sunday, May 22 at Noon ET.
